Health Insurance is mandatory for all International Students with the option of waiving. If not waived, the default will be enrollment in the student health insurance plan.
MANDATORY INSURANCE & WAIVER FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
2019-20 Academic Year
International Students at Seattle University are required to have health insurance. There are two options for meeting this requirement:
As a default, International Students are automatically enrolled in the SU contracted Student Health Insurance Plan managed by, JCB Insurance Solutions. The premium will be billed to the student's account. If this is your choice, no further action is required.
Medical Plan: Aetna Student Health
Coverage dates: 9/1/19 - 8/31/20
If you have your own health insurance plan with comparable coverage, you may submit an online waiver to opt out of the Student Health Insurance Plan.
Approved health insurance waivers are valid for the 2019-20 academic year. If you lose coverage at any point during the year, please contact Seattle University Student Financial Services.
The Seattle University student health insurance plan is administered by Aetna Life Insurance Company, 151 Farmington Ave. Hartford, CT 06156.
