Create a JCB Student Account in order to opt-in to or waive out of the Mount Saint Mary's University Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). 

The Health Insurance premium will be charged to your MSMU student account unless you submit and receive an approved health insurance waiver. Approved health insurance waivers are valid for the remainder of the current school year. 

Students waiving coverage with Medi-Cal should enter your managed care insurance provider information on the waiver. If you lose coverage or have a policy change at any point during the coverage term, please contact JCB directly at studentservices@jcbins.com. If for any reason you are not able to successfully log into the waiver site, please email JCB at studentservices@jcbins.com, or MSMU Business Office directly at businessoffice@msmu.edu.

Insurance ID Card

Your Medical ID card is available once coverage starts or after 2-3 weeks if you enroll after the coverage start date. Click on the insurance company link to view your ID Card. www.aetnastudenthealth.com

Find a Doctor or Hospital

 

To find your PPO Network List of doctors, Hospitals and Urgent Care Centers click here. 

 

If you have a life threatening emergency, go to the Emergency Room or call 911. The Emergency Room usually sees the most urgent patients first. If it is urgent but not life threatening, you can go to an urgent care center which will usually cost you less money.


Student Health Services

In Student Health Services, emphasis is placed on preventive medicine and on positive health practices which will become a part of each student's lifestyle. Programs designed to assist students in developing values and skills related to achieving a high level of health are presented each semester.

Dental Savings Program

Students enrolled in the school's Student Health Insurance Plan have access to a discount dental program that is available through UNI-CARE. This is not a dental insurance plan; there is no waiting period.  The UNI-CARE savings program provides you with a wide range of dental discount services. Savings vary but can be as high as 50% depending on the type of service received.

 How to Save: 

  • To find a participating provider go to findbestbenefits.com/student, choose Dental, and enter your zip code
  • Give the dental network name (UNI-CARE) to your provider when making an appointment
  • Download your membership card and present it to the provider prior to treatment to ensure proper discount is applied
  • Payment is due at time of service

Vision Savings Program

Students enrolled in the school’s Student Health Insurance Plan have access to a discount vision program that is available through Coast to Coast Vision. This is not a vision insurance plan; there is no waiting period.

Coast to Coast’s network has over 20,000 independent providers and retail stores nationwide, including For Eyes Optical, Lens Crafters, Pearle Vision, Target Optical, JC Penney Optical and Visionworks locations. Students save 10% to 60% off eyeglasses, contact lenses and other retail eyewear items, as well as 10% to 30% off eye examinations at any participating Coast to Coast Vision provider and 40% to 50% off the national average on LASIK.

If you are enrolled in your school's Student Health Insurance Plan, you will have access to SilverCloud Health. SilverCloud offers online, self-guided programs designed for young adults to address anxiety, depression, stress, resilience, or insomnia. Based on cognitive behavioral therapy principles, these self-guided programs are available any time, on any device.

2 Important Enrollment Information

You must meet eligibility and attendance requirements set by your school to purchase or waive this insurance coverage. The insurance company and/or Gallagher Insurance, Risk Management and Consulting (the "Company") maintains the right to investigate student (and dependent) status and attendance records to verify that the policy eligibility requirements have been met. If and whenever the Company discovers that the policy eligibility requirements have not been met, our only obligation is to refund premium payment, minus any claims paid. By enrolling in this plan you are agreeing to your insurance carrier’s binding arbitration policies listed in the plan brochure. It is a crime to knowingly provide false, incomplete, or misleading information to an insurance company for the purposes of defrauding the company. Penalties include imprisonment, fines, and denial of insurance benefits. If your University is located in Washington State, the definition of Spouse includes Washington State Registered Domestic Partner.

*All refund requests must be sent to the University who will confirm nonstudent status with JCB, and submit the refund request on behalf of the student. The refund deadline is 45 days after the Insurance term start date. Only refunds submitted by the University before the refund deadline will be considered. Credit card refunds must be requested within 120 days of the date of purchase and before the refund deadline. No refunds will be considered after the refund deadline. All refunds will incur a $35 processing fee. *Does not apply to University of Michigan.
