ID CARDS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE START DATE OR 3 WEEKS AFTER ENROLLMENT, WHICHEVER IS LATER.
SJSU requires all inbound international students to purchase SJSU student health insurance coverage prior to registering for classes. Insurance holds will be removed within 48 hours after purchasing insurance coverage by SJSU. SJSU will automatically receive confirmation of your purchase from JCB. DO NOT submit a receipt to SJSU.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ANY REFUND REQUESTS: If you are enrolling in the Fall 2023 insurance term prior to 8/7/23, please consider paying via E-Check as there are additional restrictions for refund requests if a credit card is used for purchase. PLEASE READ: All refund requests must be sent to the University who will confirm non-student status with JCB and submit the refund request on behalf of the student. Refunds for E-Check enrollments must be requested within 45 days of the insurance term start date. However, refunds for Credit Card enrollments must be requested within 45 days of the insurance term start date AND within 120 days of purchase, whichever is sooner. Please note that if you use a credit card to purchase your insurance plan, refunds are NOT possible passed 120 days of the day of your purchase. This additional restriction applies to credit card purchases only. Therefore, we recommend using an E-check to purchase your insurance plan.

If you have a life threatening emergency, go to the Emergency Room or call 911. The Emergency Room usually sees the most urgent patients first. If it is urgent but not life threatening, you can go to an urgent care center which will usually cost you less money.

The Student Health Center provides medical care to students enrolled at SJSU. In addition to treating acute conditions, injuries, and illnesses, the Health Center provides a family planning program and maintains an in-house licensed pharmacy, a physical therapy department, a federally certified high complexity laboratory, and an x-ray department.
